Unit Dues

• there was some confusion about who's money and decision it was
• we thought this was a local decision, but it's not - the unit already voted
• Everyone was paying $1 in unit dues for years and years. Effective July 2007 they were raised to $3. There was a mixup and our community thought the dues were to be $2. Since we did not have a July weekend we paid the $2 in August. That payment brought to light the mix-up. It was then cleared up and we paid the $3 when the September dues were paid and at that time made up for the dues for the August weekend.
  
• currently, roughly $2800 in the unit pool
• necessary for more enrichment at the unit level
• decision is to payup the balance, increase the fee to be $3, revisit in June 2008
• N&C will ask unit if there is a target amount
  

October Community Meeting

• coordinated by Lazinskis
• design of the meeting is for recruiting
• there is a need for more senior couples
• possibility of bowling or another sort of outing
• marketing ideas
• target of each couple bringing a couple
• N&C will review the time and talent forms
• Sunday afternoon Oct 21st as a tentative date
  

Registration Couple

• Fasslers are happy to train and support
• hotel and caterer final coordination
• coordination with finance couple
• voice mail
• first point of contact for EE
• possibility of a backup couple
• Pedrozas & Muellers will meet w/Fasslers - Hey!!!
  

District Convention 2009

• guidelines are from 1994
• convention size averages 200 couples
• going to the National convention next year would be very beneficial (Oct 2008, Wichita, KS)
• most likely want to plan to be there by 7 PM, Friday evening
• need to pick a weekend date is one of the first duties with facility arrangement soon afterwards
• weekend needs to coordinate with Bishop's schedule
• convention is entire unit's responsibility

• Penns are open to being the convention coordinators - HEY!!!
• possibility of convention sponsors to generate funds

Misc

• Muellers are expecting!!!
• Jack & Taffy need to trade their Aug weekend
• Wriggles has asked for an increase to cover the increase in gas costs per our suggestion
• $20 was the decision
• Muellers will tentatively host November weekend
• Start thinking about the Christmas party please
